EKG 101
– Blocks, Part I

Learn to interpret three important conditions that will affect your plan of care and prevent missed diagnoses: New right bundle branch blocks can represent pulmonary problems or cardiomyopathies. Left ventricular hypertrophy identification can lead to diagnosing hypertensive heart disease or aortic stenosis. Identifying ischemia can facilitate further testing and prevent a myocardial infarction.
EKG 101 is a more advanced course that builds on principles introduced in Anatomy of an EKG and EKG 100. Foundational skills will be reinforced, alongside introducing new concepts. This course teaches identification of incomplete right bundle branch blocks, right bundle branch blocks, left ventricular hypertrophy, and ST-T wave abnormalities.

In this course, you will learn to:

  • Identify incomplete right bundle branch blocks.
  • Identify the two different morphologies of complete right bundle branch blocks.
  • Identify left ventricular hypertrophy and ischemia changes on an EKG.
  • Identify ST-T wave abnormalities.

This course is suitable for:

APRNs, RNs, LPNs/LVNs
