About Us
We’re a growing community of passionate nurses and nurse practitioners transforming our understanding of cardiology—building deep confidence in EKG interpretation and more—through clear, practical, and engaging education rooted in purpose.
Hi there,
I’m Tranise Goodlow, DNP, APRN, AGACNP-BC, also known as Dr. G the NP
I’m a cardiology nurse practitioner, educator, wife, mother, and lifelong athlete. At my core, I believe deeply in the power of education, and I come from a long line of people who feel the same.
I was raised in a family where education wasn’t just valued—it was a legacy. My mother and sister are both teachers. My grandmother was also a teacher, and my grandfather served as a school principal. Several other relatives became professors. Teaching runs through my veins, even though, as a child, I once resisted the path.
I knew I wanted to make a meaningful impact, and my parents introduced me to the possibilities within healthcare. What I didn’t realize then was that nursing is not only about caregiving—it’s also about teaching. As I advanced from nurse to nurse practitioner, that purpose became even clearer. My role naturally evolved into educating both patients and fellow healthcare providers, and I’ve come to fully embrace teaching as a part of my identity and purpose.

As the founder of Dr. G the NP, LLC
I specialize in making cardiology concepts practical, understandable, and even fun. Through storytelling, analogies, cartoons, and humor, I help nurses and nurse practitioners develop lasting confidence in reading EKGs and managing cardiovascular conditions.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southern University and A&M College in 2010, and my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree with a specialty as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from the University of Arizona in 2017. My DNP project—“Provider Adherence to JNC 8 Pharmacological Guideline Recommendations in African American Adults Diagnosed with Hypertension”—earned the Mary Opal Wolanin Outstanding Dissertation Award and was nominated for the American Nurses Credentialing Center Outstanding DNP Project.
My professional passions include coronary artery disease, heart failure, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and (of course) EKG interpretation. Through my courses and resources, I’m committed to bridging knowledge gaps, building confidence, and helping healthcare providers become better prepared to care for the patients who need them most.
Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here—and I can’t wait to support you on your cardiology learning journey!
